| 1. * |
A.L.M.R. These are the signs (or verses) of the Book: that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth; but most men believe not.
|
|
A. L. M. R. These (letters) are proofs of this scripture. What is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, but most people do not believe.
|
|
سورة الرعد بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم المر تلك ايات الكتاب والذي انزل اليك من ربك الحق ولكن اكثر الناس لايؤمنون
|
|
A L M R, those are The Book's verses/evidences and which was descended to you, from your Lord the truth, and but most of the people do not believe.
|
|
|
|
Alif-lam-meem-ratilkaayatu alkitabi waallathee onzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu walakinna akthara alnnasi layu\minoona
|
| |
| 2. * |
Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; is firmly established on the throne (of authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.

GOD is the One who raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, then assumed all authority. He committed the sun and the moon, each running (in its orbit) for a predetermined period. He controls all things, and explains the revelations, that you may attain certainty about meeting your Lord.
|
|
الله الذي رفع السماوات بغير عمد ترونها ثم استوى على العرش وسخرالشمس والقمر كل يجري لاجل مسمى يدبر الامر يفصل الايات لعلكم بلقاء ربكم توقنون
|
|
God (is) who raised the skies/space without pillars/posts/columns (that) you see/understand it, then He aimed to/tended to/sat on on the throne, and He manipulated/subjugated the sun and the moon each passes/orbits to a named/identified (specified) term/time, He plans/regulates the order/command/matter/affair, He details/explains/clarifies the verses/evidences, maybe/perhaps you, with meeting your Lord, you be sure/certain.

Allahu allathee rafaAAa alssamawati bighayri AAamadin tarawnahathumma istawaAAalaalAAarshi wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree li-ajalin musamman yudabbiru al-amra yufassilu al-ayati laAAallakum biliqa-i rabbikum tooqinoona

| 3. * |
And it is He who spread out the earth, and set thereon mountains standing firm and (flowing) rivers: and fruit of every kind He made in pairs, two and two: He draweth the night as a veil o'er the Day. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who consider!
|
|
He is the One who constructed the earth and placed on it mountains and rivers. And from the different kinds of fruits, He made them into pairs - males and females. The night overtakes the day. These are solid proofs for people who think.
|
|
وهو الذي مد الارض وجعل فيها رواسي وانهارا ومن كل الثمرات جعل فيها زوجين اثنين يغشي الليل النهار ان في ذلك لايات لقوم يتفكرون
|
|
And He is who extended/spread the earth/Planet Earth and made/put in it anchors/mountains and rives/waterways, and from all (of) the fruits, He made/put in it two pair(s), the night covers/darkens the daytime, that in that (are) evidences/signs (E) to a nation thinking.
|
|
|
|
Wahuwa allathee madda al-arda wajaAAala feeharawasiya waanharan wamin kulli alththamarati jaAAala feehazawjayni ithnayni yughshee allayla alnnahara inna feethalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
|
| |
| 4. * |
And in the earth are tracts (diverse though) neighbouring, and gardens of vines and fields sown with corn, and palm trees - growing out of single roots or otherwise: watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Behold, verily in these things there are signs for those who understand!
|
|
On earth, there are adjacent lots that produce orchards of grapes, crops, palm trees - dioecious and non-dioecious. Although they are irrigated with the same water, we prefer some of them over others in eating. These are solid proofs for people who understand.
|
|
وفي الارض قطع متجاورات وجنات من اعناب وزرع ونخيل صنوان وغير صنوان يسقى بماء واحد ونفضل بعضها على بعض في الاكل ان في ذلك لايات لقوم يعقلون
|
|
And in the earth/Planet Earth (are) parts/portions (sections) neighboring each other, and treed gardens/paradises from grapes and plants/crops and palm trees' off shoots from a single root and without off shoots from a single root being given drink/irrigated with one water, and We prefer/favour some/part of it over some/part, in the food/fruits, that in that (are) evidences/signs (E) to a nation reasoning/comprehending.

Wafee al-ardi qitaAAun mutajawiratun wajannatun min aAAnabin wazarAAun wanakheelunsinwanun waghayrusinwanin yusqabima-in wahidin wanufaddilu baAAdahaAAalabaAAdin fee alokuli inna feethalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona
|

| 5. * |
If thou dost marvel (at their want of faith), strange is their saying: "When we are (actually) dust, shall we indeed then be in a creation renewed?" They are those who deny their Lord! They are those round whose necks will be yokes (of servitude): they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for aye)!
|
|
If you ever wonder, the real wonder is their saying: "After we turn into dust, do we get recreated anew?" These are the ones who have disbelieved in their Lord. These are the ones who have incurred shackles around their necks. These are the ones who have incurred Hell, wherein they abide forever.
|
|
وان تعجب فعجب قولهم ءاذا كنا ترابا أئنا لفي خلق جديد اولئك الذين كفروا بربهم واولئك الاغلال في اعناقهم واولئك اصحاب النار هم فيها خالدون
|
|
And if you be astonished, so their saying/opinion and belief (is a) wonderment/astonishment/ surprise: "Is it that if we were dust/earth are we (to be) in (E) (a) new creation ?" Those are those who disbelieved with their Lord, and those, the leather or iron collars or handcuffs (will be) in their necks, and those are the fire's owners/company/friends, they are in it immortally/eternally.

|
Wa-in taAAjab faAAajabun qawluhum a-ithakunnaturaban a-innalafee khalqin jadeedin ola-ika allatheena kafaroo birabbihim waola-ika al-aghlalu fee aAAnaqihim waola-ika as-habu alnnari hum feehakhalidoona
|

| 6. * |
They ask thee to hasten on the evil in preference to the good: Yet have come to pass, before them, (many) exemplary punishments! But verily thy Lord is full of forgiveness for mankind for their wrong-doing, and verily thy Lord is (also) strict in punishment.
|
|
They challenge you to bring doom upon them, rather than turning righteous! Sufficient precedents have been set for them in the past. Indeed, your Lord is full of forgiveness towards the people, in spite of their transgressions, and your Lord is also strict in enforcing retribution.
|
|
ويستعجلونك بالسيئة قبل الحسنة وقد خلت من قبلهم المثلات وان ربك لذو مغفرة للناس على ظلمهم وان ربك لشديد العقاب
|
|
And they hurry/hasten you with the sin/crime (harm) before the good/goodness, and the punishments and tortures had passed from before them, and that your Lord (is owner) of mercy to the people, on (for) their injustice/oppression, and that your Lord (is) strong (E) (severe in) the punishment.
|
|
|
|
WayastaAAjiloonaka bialssayyi-ati qabla alhasanati waqad khalat min qablihimu almathulatu wa-inna rabbaka lathoo maghfiratin lilnnasi AAalathulmihim wa-inna rabbaka lashadeedu alAAiqabi
|
| |
| 7. * |
And the Unbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" But thou art truly a warner, and to every people a guide.
|
|
Those who disbelieved say, "If only a miracle could come down to him from his Lord (we will then believe)." You are simply a warner - every community receives a guiding teacher.
|
|
ويقول الذين كفروا لولا انزل عليه اية من ربه انما انت منذر ولكل قوم هاد
|
|
And those who disbelieved say: "If only a verse/evidence/sign were descended on him from his Lord." But you are (a) warner/giver of notice, and to each nation (is) a guide.
|
|
|
|
Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawlaonzila AAalayhiayatun min rabbihi innamaanta munthirun walikulli qawmin hadin
|
| |
| 8. * |
Allah doth know what every female (womb) doth bear, by how much the wombs fall short (of their time or number) or do exceed. Every single thing is before His sight, in (due) proportion.
|
|
GOD knows what every female bears, and what every womb releases, or gains. Everything He does is perfectly measured.
|
|
الله يعلم ماتحمل كل انثى وماتغيض الارحام وماتزداد وكل شئ عنده بمقدار
|
|
God knows what each female conceives/(is) pregnant with and what the wombs/uteruses miscarries and what it increases/exceeds, and every thing at Him (is) with a value/measure.
|
|
|
|
Allahu yaAAlamu matahmilu kullu onthawamatagheedu al-arhamu wamatazdadu wakullu shay-in AAindahu bimiqdarin
|
| |
| 9. * |
He knoweth the unseen and that which is open: He is the Great, the Most High.
|
|
The Knower of all secrets and declarations; the Supreme, the Most High.
|
|
عالم الغيب والشهادة الكبير المتعال
|
|
Knower (of) the unseen/hidden and the testimony/certification/presence, the great/exalted/revered, the most high, mighty, exalted and dignified.
|
|
|
|
AAalimu alghaybi waalshshahadati alkabeeru almutaAAali
|
| |
| 10. * |
It is the same (to Him) whether any of you conceal his speech or declare it openly; whether he lie hid by night or walk forth freely by day.
|
|
It is the same whether you conceal your thoughts, or declare them, or hide in the darkness of the night, or act in the daylight.
|
|
سواء منكم من اسر القول ومن جهر به ومن هو مستخف بالليل وسارب بالنهار
|
|
(It is) equal/alike from you who kept the saying/opinion and belief secret and who publicized/declared with it, and who he is hidden at the night and clear/open at the daytime.
|
|
|
|
Sawaon minkum man asarra alqawla waman jahara bihi waman huwa mustakhfin biallayli wasaribun bialnnahari
|
| |
| 11. * |
For each (such person) there are (angels) in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah. Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people until they change it themselves (with their own souls). But when (once) Allah willeth a people's punishment, there can be no turning it back, nor will they find, besides Him, any to protect.
|
|
Shifts (of angels) take turns, staying with each one of you - they are in front of you and behind you. They stay with you, and guard you in accordance with GOD's commands. Thus, GOD does not change the condition of any people unless they themselves make the decision to change. If GOD wills any hardship for any people, no force can stop it. For they have none beside Him as Lord and Master.

|
له معقبات من بين يديه ومن خلفه يحفظونه من امر الله ان الله لايغير مابقوم حتى يغيروا مابانفسهم واذا اراد الله بقوم سوءا فلا مرد له ومالهم من دونه من وال
|
|
For him (are) successive angels/glorifications from between his hands and from behind him they protect/guard him from God's order/command (punishment upon his nation's evil ones), that God does not change what (is) with a nation until they change what (is) with themselves, and if God willed/wanted bad/evil/harm with a nation, so (there is) no return (protection) to (from) it, and (there is) no (one) for them from other than Him from aguardian/victorior.

|
|
Lahu muAAaqqibatun min bayni yadayhi wamin khalfihi yahfathoonahu min amri Allahi inna Allaha layughayyiru mabiqawminhattayughayyiroo mabi-anfusihim wa-ithaarada Allahu biqawmin soo-an falamaradda lahu wamalahum min doonihi min walin

| |
| 12. * |
It is He Who doth show you the lightning, by way both of fear and of hope: It is He Who doth raise up the clouds, heavy with (fertilising) rain!
|
|
He is the One who shows you the lightning as a source of fear, as well as hope, and He initiates the loaded clouds.
|
|
هو الذي يريكم البرق خوفا وطمعا وينشئ السحاب الثقال
|
|
He is who shows you the lightning frightfully and desiring/coveting, and He creates/develops the clouds, the heavy/loaded.
|
|
|
|
Huwa allathee yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunshi-o alssahaba alththiqala
|
| |
| 13. * |
Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe: He flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will..yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of His power (supreme)!
|
|
The thunder praises His glory, and so do the angels, out of reverence for Him. He sends the lightning bolts, which strike in accordance with His will. Yet, they argue about GOD, though His power is awesome.
|
|
ويسبح الرعد بحمده والملائكة من خيفته ويرسل الصواعق فيصيب بها من يشاء وهم يجادلون في الله وهو شديد المحال
|
|
And the thunder praises/glorifies with His gratitude/thanks, and the angels from fearing Him, and He sends the fires falling from the sky accompanied by thunderous noise/death, so He strikes/hits with it whom He wills/wants, and (while) they argue/dispute in God, and He is strong (severe), the impenetrable/powerful, and mighty.

|
|
Wayusabbihu alrraAAdu bihamdihi waalmala-ikatu min kheefatihi wayursilu alssawaAAiqa fayuseebu bihaman yashao wahum yujadiloona fee Allahi wahuwa shadeedu almihali
|
| |
| 14. * |
For Him (alone) is prayer in Truth: any others that they call upon besides Him hear them no more than if they were to stretch forth their hands for water to reach their mouths but it reaches them not: for the prayer of those without Faith is nothing but (futile) wandering (in the mind).
|
|
Imploring Him is the only legitimate supplication, while the idols they implore beside Him cannot ever respond. Thus, they are like those who stretch their hands to the water, but nothing reaches their mouths. The supplications of the disbelievers are in vain.
|
|
له دعوة الحق والذين يدعون من دونه لايستجيبون لهم بشئ الا كباسط كفيه الى الماء ليبلغ فاه وماهو ببالغه ومادعاء الكافرين الا في ضلال
|
|
For Him (is) the truth's call/request/prayer, and those who call from (to) other than Him, they do not answer/reply to them from a thing, except as (who) spreads/extends his two palms to the water to reach his mouth, and he is not with reaching it, and the disbeliever's call/prayer is not except in misguidance.
|
|
|
|
Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi waallatheena yadAAoona min doonihi layastajeeboona lahum bishay-in illakabasiti kaffayhi ilaalma-i liyablugha fahu wamahuwa bibalighihi wamaduAAao alkafireena illafeedalalin
|
| |
| 15. * |
Whatever beings there are in the heavens and the earth do prostrate themselves to Allah (Acknowledging subjection),- with good-will or in spite of themselves: so do their shadows in the morning and evenings.
|
|
To GOD prostrates everyone in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and so do their shadows in the mornings and the evenings.
|
|
ولله يسجد من في السماوات والارض طوعا وكرها وظلالهم بالغدو والاصال
|
|
And to God, prostrate what (are) in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth voluntarily and involuntarily/forcefully, and their shadow/glory at the early morning and the evening to sunsets.
|
|
|
|
Walillahi yasjudu man fee alssamawati waal-arditawAAan wakarhan wathilaluhum bialghuduwwi waal-asali
|
| |
| 16. * |
Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?" Say: "(It is) Allah." Say: "Do ye then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?" Say: "Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of darkness equal with light?" Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say: "(Allah) is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible."

|
Say, "Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?" Say, "GOD." Say, "Why then do you set up besides Him masters who do not possess any power to benefit or harm even themselves?" Say, "Is the blind the same as the seer? Is darkness the same as the light?" Have they found idols besides GOD who created creations similar to His creations, to the point of not distinguishing the two creations? Say, "GOD is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Supreme."

|
قل من رب السماوات والارض قل الله قل افاتخذتم من دونه اولياء لايملكون لانفسهم نفعا ولاضرا قل هل يستوي الاعمى والبصير ام هل تستوي الظلمات والنور ام جعلوا لله شركاء خلقوا كخلقه فتشابه الخلق عليهم قل الله خالق كل شئ وهو الواحد القهار
|
|
Say: "who (is) the skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's Lord?" Say: "God." Say: "So did you take/receive from other than Him guardians/allies they do not own/possess to themselves benefit/usefulness and nor harm?" Say: "Do the blind and the seeing become equal/alike? Or do the darknesses and the light become equal/alike? Or they made/put to God partners (that) created like/as His creation so the creation looked alike/resembled on (to) them?" Say: "God (is) creator (of) every thing, and He is the one, the defeater/conqueror."

|
Qul man rabbu alssamawati waal-ardi quli Allahu qul afaittakhathtum min doonihi awliyaa layamlikoona li-anfusihim nafAAan waladarran qul hal yastawee al-aAAmawaalbaseeru am hal tastawee alththulumatu waalnnooru am jaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa khalaqoo kakhalqihi fatashabaha alkhalqu AAalayhim quli Allahu khaliqu kulli shay-in wahuwa alwahidu alqahharu
|

| 17. * |
He sends down water from the skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure: But the torrent bears away to foam that mounts up to the surface. Even so, from that (ore) which they heat in the fire, to make ornaments or utensils therewith, there is a scum likewise. Thus doth Allah (by parables) show forth Truth and Vanity. For the scum disappears like forth cast out; while that which is for the good of mankind remains on the earth. Thus doth Allah set forth parables.

|
He sends down water from the sky, causing the valleys to overflow, then the rapids produce abundant foam. Similarly, when they use fire to refine metals for their jewelry or equipment, foam is produced. GOD thus cites analogies for the truth and falsehood. As for the foam, it goes to waste, while that which benefits the people stays close to the ground. GOD thus cites the analogies.

انزل من السماء ماء فسالت اودية بقدرها فاحتمل السيل زبدا رابيا ومما يوقدون عليه في النار ابتغاء حلية او متاع زبد مثله كذلك يضرب الله الحق والباطل فاماالزبد فيذهب جفاء واما ما ينفع الناس فيمكث في الارض كذلك يضرب الله الامثال
|
|
He descended from the sky water, so it dissolved/flowed (in)valleys, with its capability/power,so the flood/torrent carried/bore, increasing foam and from what they ignite/kindle on in the fire desiring ornament/decoration or enjoyment foam as/like it, as/like that God gives (examples of) the truth, and the falsehood, so but the foam so it goes useless/worthless, and but what benefits the people, so it remains in the earth/Planet Earth, as/like that God gives the examples.

Anzala mina alssama-i maan fasalat awdiyatun biqadarihafaihtamala alssaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimmayooqidoona AAalayhi fee alnnari ibtighaahilyatin aw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribu Allahu alhaqqa waalbatila faammaalzzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waammamayanfaAAu alnnasa fayamkuthu fee al-ardi kathalika yadribu Allahu al-amthala
|

| 18. * |
For those who respond to their Lord, are (all) good things. But those who respond not to Him,- Even if they had all that is in the heavens and on earth, and as much more, (in vain) would they offer it for ransom. For them will the reckoning be terrible: their abode will be Hell,- what a bed of misery!
|
|
Those who respond to their Lord deserve the good rewards. As for those who failed to respond to Him, if they possessed everything on earth - even twice as much - they would readily give it up as ransom. They have incurred the worst reckoning, and their final abode is Hell; what a miserable destiny.
|
|
للذين استجابوا لربهم الحسنى والذين لم يستجيبوا له لو ان لهم مافي الارض جميعا ومثله معه لافتدوا به اولئك لهم سوء الحساب وماواهم جهنم وبئس المهاد
|
|
The best/goodness, (is) to those who answered/replied to their Lord, and those who did not answer/reply to Him, if that for them what (is) in the earth/Planet Earth all together, and like it, with it, they would have ransomed/compensated with it, those for them (is) the account's/calculations' bad/evil, and their shelter/refuge (is) Hell, and how bad (are) the beds ?

|
Lillatheena istajaboo lirabbihimu alhusnawaallatheena lam yastajeeboo lahu law anna lahum mafee al-ardi jameeAAan wamithlahu maAAahu laiftadaw bihi ola-ika lahum soo-o alhisabi wamawahum jahannamu wabisa almihadu
|

| 19. * |
Is then one who doth know that that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth, like one who is blind? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition;-
|
|
Is one who recognizes that your Lord's revelations to you are the truth equal to one who is blind? Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.
|
|
افمن يعلم انما انزل اليك من ربك الحق كمن هو اعمى انما يتذكر اولوا الالباب
|
|
Is who knows that what was descended to you from your Lord (is) the truth, as/who, he is blind? But (those who) remember/mention (are) those of the pure minds/hearts.
|
|
|
|
Afaman yaAAlamu annamaonzila ilayka min rabbika alhaqqu kaman huwa aAAmainnamayatathakkaru oloo al-albabi
|
| |
| 20. * |
Those who fulfil the covenant of Allah and fail not in their plighted word;
|
|
They are the ones who fulfill their pledge to GOD, and do not violate the covenant.
|
|
الذين يوفون بعهد الله ولاينقضون الميثاق
|
|
Those who fulfill/complete with God's promise/oath, and do not break/undo the promise/covenant.
|
|
|
|
Allatheena yoofoona biAAahdi Allahi walayanqudoona almeethaqa
|
| |
| 21. * |
Those who join together those things which Allah hath commanded to be joined, hold their Lord in awe, and fear the terrible reckoning;
|
|
They join what GOD has commanded to be joined, reverence their Lord, and fear the dreadful reckoning.
|
|
والذين يصلون ماامر الله به ان يوصل ويخشون ربهم ويخافون سوء العذاب
|
|
And those who connect what God ordered/commanded with it that (it) be connected, and they fear their Lord, and they fear the account's/calculation's evil.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena yasiloona maamara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayakhshawna rabbahum wayakhafoona soo-a alhisabi
|
| |
| 22. * |
Those who patiently persevere, seeking the countenance of their Lord; Establish regular prayers; spend, out of (the gifts) We have bestowed for their sustenance, secretly and openly; and turn off Evil with good: for such there is the final attainment of the (eternal) home,-
|
|
They steadfastly persevere in seeking their Lord, observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), spend from our provisions to them secretly and publicly, and counter evil with good. These have deserved the best abode.
|
|
والذين صبروا ابتغاء وجه ربهم واقاموا الصلاة وانفقوا مما رزقناهم سرا وعلانية ويدرؤون بالحسنة السيئة اولئك لهم عقبى الدار
|
|
And those who were patient desiring their Lord's direction/face, and kept up the prayers, and they spent from what We provided for them secretly and openly/publicly, and they drive away/repel the sin/crime with the good/goodness, those, for them (are) the home's/house's end/turn (result).
|
|
|
|
Waallatheenasabaroo ibtighaa wajhi rabbihim waaqamoo alssalata waanfaqoo mimmarazaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan wayadraoona bialhasanati alssayyi-ata ola-ika lahum AAuqbaalddari
|
| |
| 23. * |
Gardens of perpetual bliss: they shall enter there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring: and angels shall enter unto them from every gate (with the salutation):
|
|
They enter the gardens of Eden, together with the righteous among their parents, their spouses, and their children. The angels will enter in to them from every door.
|
|
جنات عدن يدخلونها ومن صلح من ابائهم وازواجهم وذرياتهم والملائكة يدخلون عليهم من كل باب
|
|
Treed gardens/paradises (as) eternal residence, they enter it, and who was righteous/correct from their167fathers/forefathers, and their spouses, and their descendants, and the angels enter on them from every door/entrance.
|
|
|
|
Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonahawamansalaha minaba-ihim waazwajihim wathurriyyatihim waalmala-ikatu yadkhuloona AAalayhim min kulli babin
|
| |
| 24. * |
"Peace unto you for that ye persevered in patience! Now how excellent is the final home!"
|
|
"Peace be upon you, because you steadfastly persevered. What a joyous destiny."

سلام عليكم بما صبرتم فنعم عقبى الدار
|
|
A greeting/peace on you because (of) what you became patient, so the house's/home's end/turn (result is) blessed/praised.
|
|
|
|
Salamun AAalaykum bimasabartum faniAAma AAuqbaalddari
|
| |
| 25. * |
But those who break the Covenant of Allah, after having plighted their word thereto, and cut asunder those things which Allah has commanded to be joined, and work mischief in the land;- on them is the curse; for them is the terrible home!
|
|
As for those who violate GOD's covenant after pledging to keep it, and sever what GOD has commanded to be joined, and commit evil, they have incurred condemnation; they have incurred the worst destiny.
|
|
والذين ينقضون عهد الله من بعد ميثاقه ويقطعون ماامر الله به ان يوصل ويفسدون في الارض اولئك لهم اللعنة ولهم سوء الدار
|
|
And those who break/unbind God's promise/oath, from after its affirmation, and they cut/sever what God ordered with it that (it) be connected, and they corrupt in the earth/Planet Earth, those for them (is) the curse/torture, and for them the house's/home's evil.
|
|
|
|
Waallatheena yanqudoona AAahda Allahi min baAAdi meethaqihi wayaqtaAAoona maamara Allahu bihi an yoosala wayufsidoona fee al-ardi ola-ika lahumu allaAAnatu walahum soo-o alddari
|
| |
| 26. * |
Allah doth enlarge, or grant by (strict) measure, the sustenance (which He giveth) to whomso He pleaseth. (The wordly) rejoice in the life of this world: But the life of this world is but little comfort in the Hereafter.
|
|
GOD is the One who increases the provision for whomever He wills, or withholds it. They have become preoccupied with this life; and this life, compared to the Hereafter, is nil.
|
|
الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر وفرحوا بالحياة الدنيا وماالحياة الدنيا في الاخرة الا متاع
|
|
God spreads/extends the provision to whom He wills/wants and He is capable, and they became happy with the life the present/worldly life, and the life the present/worldly life is not in the end (other life) except enjoyment.
|
|
|
|
Allahu yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bialhayati alddunyawamaalhayatu alddunyafee al-akhirati illamataAAun
|
| |
| 27. * |
The Unbelievers say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "Truly Allah leaveth, to stray, whom He will; But He guideth to Himself those who turn to Him in penitence,-
|
|
Those who disbelieve would say, "If only a miracle could come down to him from his Lord (we would believe)." Say, "GOD sends astray whomever He wills, and guides to Him only those who obey."
|
|
ويقول الذين كفروا لولاانزل عليه اية من ربه قل ان الله يضل من يشاء ويهدي اليه من اناب
|
|
And those who disbelieved said: "If only a sign/evidence was descended on him from his Lord." Say: "That God misguides whom He wills/wants, and He guides to Him who repented."
|
|
|
|
Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lawlaonzila AAalayhiayatun min rabbihi qul inna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee ilayhi man anaba
|
| |
| 28. * |
"Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.
|
|
They are the ones whose hearts rejoice in remembering GOD. Absolutely, by remembering GOD, the hearts rejoice.
|
|
الذين امنوا وتطمئن قلوبهم بذكر الله الا بذكر الله تطمئن القلوب
|
|
Those who believed, and their hearts/minds became assured, with God's reminder, is it not with God's reminder the hearts/minds become assured ?
|
|
|
|
Allatheenaamanoo watatma-innu quloobuhum bithikri Allahi alabithikri Allahi tatma-innu alquloobu
|
| |
| 29. * |
"For those who believe and work righteousness, is (every) blessedness, and a beautiful place of (final) return."
|
|
Those who believe and lead a righteous life have deserved happiness and a joyous destiny.
|
|
الذين امنوا وعملوا الصالحات طوبى لهم وحسن مآب
|
|
Those who believed and made/did the correct/righteous deeds, for them (is) goodness/beauty/enjoyment, and (a) good/beautiful return.
|
|
|
|
Allatheenaamanoo waAAamiloo alssalihatitoobalahum wahusnu maabin
|
| |
| 30. * |
Thus have we sent thee amongst a People before whom (long since) have (other) Peoples (gone and) passed away; in order that thou mightest rehearse unto them what We send down unto thee by inspiration; yet do they reject (Him), the Most Gracious! Say: "He is my Lord! There is no god but He! On Him is my trust, and to Him do I turn!"

|
We have sent you (O Rashad) to this community, just as we did for other communities in the past. You shall recite to them what we reveal to you, for they have disbelieved in the Most Gracious. Say, "He is my Lord. There is no god except He. I put my trust in Him alone; to Him is my ultimate destiny."
|
|
كذلك ارسلناك في امة قد خلت من قبلها امم لتتلو عليهم الذي اوحينا اليك وهم يكفرون بالرحمن قل هو ربي لااله الا هو عليه توكلت واليه متاب
|
|
As/like that We sent you in (a) nation, nations had passed/expired in it, to read/recite on them what We inspired/transmitted to you, and they disbelieve with (in) the merciful, say: "He is my Lord, no God except He, on Him I relied/depended, and to Him (is) my repentance."
|
|
|
|
Kathalika arsalnaka fee ommatin qad khalat min qablihaomamun litatluwa AAalayhimu allathee awhaynailayka wahum yakfuroona bialrrahmani qul huwa rabbee lailaha illahuwa AAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi matabi
|
| |
| 31. * |
If there were a Qur'an with which mountains were moved, or the earth were cloven asunder, or the dead were made to speak, (this would be the one!) But, truly, the command is with Allah in all things! Do not the Believers know, that, had Allah (so) willed, He could have guided all mankind (to the right)? But the Unbelievers,- never will disaster cease to seize them for their (ill) deeds, or to settle close to their homes, until the promise of Allah come to pass, for, verily, Allah will not fail in His promise.

|
Even if a Quran caused mountains to move, or the earth to tear asunder, or the dead to speak (they will not believe). GOD controls all things. Is it not time for the believers to give up and realize that if GOD willed, He could have guided all the people? The disbelievers will continue to suffer disasters, as a consequence of their own works, or have disasters strike close to them, until GOD's promise is fulfilled. GOD will never change the predetermined destiny.

ولو ان قرانا سيرت به الجبال او قطعت به الارض او كلم به الموتى بل لله الامر جميعا افلم ييأس الذين امنوا ان لو يشاء الله لهدى الناس جميعا ولايزال الذين كفروا تصيبهم بما صنعوا قارعة او تحل قريبا من دارهم حتى ياتي وعد الله ان الله لايخلف الميعاد
|
|
And if that a Koran the mountains were made to move/walk with it? Or the earth/Planet Earth was cut to pieces with it? Or the deads were conversed/spoken/talked to with it? But to God (is) the matter/affair/order/command all. Did those who believed not despair ? That (E) if God willed/wanted, He would have guided the people all together. And those who disbelieved disaster still/continues (to) strike them because (of) what they made/did, or (it) takes place/descends near/close from their home/country until God's promise comes, that God does not break the appointment (promise).

Walaw anna qur-anan suyyirat bihi aljibalu aw quttiAAat bihi al-ardu aw kullima bihi almawtabal lillahi al-amru jameeAAan afalam yay-asi allatheenaamanoo an law yashao Allahu lahadaalnnasa jameeAAan walayazalu allatheena kafaroo tuseebuhum bimasanaAAoo qariAAatun aw tahullu qareeban min darihimhattaya\tiya waAAdu Allahi inna Allaha layukhlifu almeeAAada
|

| 32. * |
Mocked were (many) apostles before thee: but I granted respite to the unbelievers, and finally I punished them: Then how (terrible) was my requital!
|
|
Messengers before you have been ridiculed; I permitted the disbelievers to carry on, then I punished them. How terrible was My retribution!
|
|
ولقد استهزئ برسل من قبلك فامليت للذين كفروا ثم اخذتهم فكيف كان عقاب
|
|
And with messengers from before you had been mocked/made fun (of), so I extended to those who disbelieved in time/enjoyment, then I punished them, so how was My punishment?
|
|
|
|
Walaqadi istuhzi-a birusulin min qablika faamlaytu lillatheena kafaroo thumma akhathtuhum fakayfa kana AAiqabi
|
| |
| 33. * |
Is then He who standeth over every soul (and knoweth) all that it doth, (like any others)? And yet they ascribe partners to Allah. Say: "But name them! is it that ye will inform Him of something he knoweth not on earth, or is it (just) a show of words?" Nay! to those who believe not, their pretence seems pleasing, but they are kept back (thereby) from the path. And those whom Allah leaves to stray, no one can guide.

|
Is there any equal to the One who controls every single soul? Yet, they set up idols to rival GOD. Say, "Name them. Are you informing Him of something on earth that He does not know? Or, are you fabricating empty statements?" Indeed, the schemes of those who disbelieve have been adorned in their eyes. They are thus diverted from the right path. Whomever GOD sends astray can never find a guiding teacher.

افمن هو قائم على كل نفس بما كسبت وجعلوا لله شركاء قل سموهم ام تنبئونه بما لايعلم في الارض ام بظاهر من القول بل زين للذين كفروا مكرهم وصدوا عن السبيل ومن يضلل الله فماله من هاد
|
|
Is whom, He is taking care of on every self with what it earned/gained, and they made/created to God partners, say: "Name/identify them, or you inform Him with what He does not know in the earth/Planet Earth, or with apparent/visible from the saying/opinion and belief. Rather their cheatery/deceit was decorated/beautified to those who disbelieved, and they prevented/obstructed from the way/path, and whom God misguides so (there is) none from (a) guide (is) for him.

|
|
Afaman huwa qa-imun AAalakulli nafsin bimakasabat wajaAAaloo lillahi shurakaa qul sammoohum am tunabbi-oonahu bimalayaAAlamu fee al-ardi am bithahirin mina alqawli bal zuyyina lillatheena kafaroo makruhum wasuddoo AAani alssabeeli waman yudlili Allahu famalahu min hadin
|

| 34. * |
For them is a penalty in the life of this world, but harder, truly, is the penalty of the Hereafter: and defender have they none against Allah.
|
|
They have incurred retribution in this life, and the retribution in the Hereafter is far worse. Nothing can protect them against GOD.
|
|
لهم عذاب في الحياة الدنيا ولعذاب الاخرة اشق ومالهم من الله من واق
|
|
For them (is) torture in the life the present/worldly life, and the end's (other life's) torture (E) (is) harder/more difficult, and (there is) none from (a) protector/preserver for them.
|
|
|
|
Lahum AAathabun fee alhayati alddunyawalaAAathabu al-akhirati ashaqqu wamalahum mina Allahi min waqin
|
| |
| 35. * |
The parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised!- beneath it flow rivers: perpetual is the enjoyment thereof and the shade therein: such is the end of the Righteous; and the end of Unbelievers in the Fire.
|
|
The allegory of Heaven, which is promised for the righteous, is flowing streams, inexhaustible provisions, and cool shade. Such is the destiny for those who observe righteousness, while the destiny for the disbelievers is Hell.
|
|
مثل الجنة التي وعد المتقون تجري من تحتها الانهار اكلها دائم وظلها تلك عقبى الذين اتقوا وعقبى الكافرين النار
|
|
(The) example/proverb (of) a treed garden/paradise which the fearing and obeying were promised (it), (is) the rivers/waterways flows/passes from below/beneath it, its fruits (are) continuous/lasting, and its shade.168That (is) those who feared and obeyed's end/turn (result); and the disbelievers end/turn (result) is the fire.

|
Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona tajree min tahtihaal-anharu okuluhada-imun wathilluhatilka AAuqbaallatheena ittaqaw waAAuqbaalkafireena alnnaru
|
| |
| 36. * |
Those to whom We have given the Book rejoice at what hath been revealed unto thee: but there are among the clans those who reject a part thereof. Say: "I am commanded to worship Allah, and not to join partners with Him. Unto Him do I call, and unto Him is my return."
|
|
Those who received the scripture rejoice in what was revealed to you; some others may reject parts of it. Say, "I am simply enjoined to worship GOD, and never associate any idols with Him. I invite to Him, and to Him is my ultimate destiny."
|
|
والذين اتيناهم الكتاب يفرحون بما انزل اليك ومن الاحزاب من ينكر بعضه قل انما امرت ان اعبد الله ولااشرك به اليه ادعوا واليه ماب
|
|
And those whom We gave them The Book they rejoice/delight with what was descended to you. And from the groups/parties who denies some/part of it, say: "But I was ordered/commanded that I worship God, and I do not share/make partners with Him, to Him I call, and to Him (is) my return."
|
|
|
|
Waallatheenaataynahumu alkitaba yafrahoona bimaonzila ilayka wamina al-ahzabi man yunkiru baAAdahu qul innamaomirtu an aAAbuda Allaha walaoshrika bihi ilayhi adAAoo wa-ilayhi maabi
|
| |
| 37. * |
Thus have We revealed it to be a judgment of authority in Arabic. Wert thou to follow their (vain) desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither protector nor defender against Allah.
|
|
We revealed these laws in Arabic, and if you ever acquiesce to their wishes, after this knowledge has come to you, you will have no ally, nor a protector, against GOD.
|
|
وكذلك انزلناه حكما عربيا ولئن اتبعت اهواءهم بعد ماجاءك من العلم مالك من الله من ولي ولاواق
|
|
And as/like that We descended it an Arabic judgment/rule, and if (E) you followed their self attraction for desires/love and lusts after what came to you from the knowledge, no guardian/ally and nor protector/preserver, (is) for you from God.
|
|
|
|
Wakathalika anzalnahuhukman AAarabiyyan wala-ini ittabaAAta ahwaahum baAAda majaaka mina alAAilmi malaka mina Allahi min waliyyin walawaqin
|
| |
| 38. * |
We did send apostles before thee, and appointed for them wives and children: and it was never the part of an apostle to bring a sign except as Allah permitted (or commanded). For each period is a Book (revealed).
|
|
We have sent messengers before you (O Rashad), and we made them husbands with wives and children. No messenger can produce a miracle without GOD's authorization, and in accordance with a specific, predetermined time.
|
|
ولقد ارسلنا رسلا من قبلك وجعلنا لهم ازواجا وذرية وماكان لرسول ان ياتي باية الا باذن الله لكل اجل كتاب
|
|
And We had sent messengers from before you and We made for them spouses and descendants. And (it) was not to a messenger that he comes with a verse/evidence except with God's permission, to every term/time (is) a judgment/fate.
|
|
|
|
Walaqad arsalnarusulan min qablika wajaAAalnalahum azwajan wathurriyyatan wamakana lirasoolin an ya\tiya bi-ayatin illabi-ithni Allahi likulli ajalin kitabun
|
| |
| 39. * |
Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book.
|
|
GOD erases whatever He wills, and fixes (whatever He wills). With Him is the original Master Record.
|
|
يمحواالله مايشاء ويثبت وعنده ام الكتاب
|
|
God eliminates/erases what He wills/wants, and He affirms/strengthens, and at Him (is) The Books' origin/mother.
|
|
|
|
Yamhoo Allahu mayashao wayuthbitu waAAindahu ommu alkitabi
|
| |
| 40. * |
Whether We shall show thee (within thy life-time) part of what we promised them or take to ourselves thy soul (before it is all accomplished),- thy duty is to make (the Message) reach them: it is our part to call them to account.
|
|
Whether we show you what we promise them, or terminate your life before that, your sole mission is to deliver (the message). It is us who will call them to account.
|
|
وان مانرينك بعض الذي نعدهم او نتوفينك فانما عليك البلاغ وعلينا الحساب
|
|
And if what We show you/make you understand some/part of which We promise them, or We make you die, so but on you (is) the information/communication, and on Us (is) the counting/calculating.
|
|
|
|
Wa-in manuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fa-innamaAAalayka albalaghu waAAalaynaalhisabu
|
| |
| 41. * |
See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? (Where) Allah commands, there is none to put back His Command: and He is swift in calling to account.
|
|
Do they not see that every day on earth, brings them closer to the end, and that GOD decides their life span, irrevocably? He is the most efficient Reckoner.
|
|
اولم يرواانا ناتي الارض ننقصها من اطرافها والله يحكم لامعقب لحكمه وهو سريع الحساب
|
|
Do they not see/understand that We come/bring the earth/Planet Earth, We reduce/decrease/lessen it from its ends/edges? And God judges/rules, (there is) no controller/driver to His judgment/rule, and He is quick/fast (in) the account/calculation.
|
|
|
|
Awa lam yaraw annana\tee al-arda nanqusuhamin atrafihawaAllahu yahkumu lamuAAaqqiba lihukmihi wahuwa sareeAAu alhisabi
|
| |
| 42. * |
Those before them did (also) devise plots; but in all things the master- planning is Allah.s He knoweth the doings of every soul: and soon will the Unbelievers know who gets home in the end.
|
|
Others before them have schemed, but to GOD belongs the ultimate scheming. He knows what everyone is doing. The disbelievers will find out who the ultimate winners are.
|
|
وقد مكر الذين من قبلهم فلله المكر جميعا يعلم ماتكسب كل نفس وسيعلم الكفار لمن عقبى الدار
|
|
And those from before them had cheated/deceived/schemed, so to God (is) all the cheatery/deceit/scheme. He knows what every self gains/acquires, and the disbelievers will know to whom (is) the house's/home's end/turn (result).
|
|
|
|
Waqad makara allatheena min qablihim falillahi almakru jameeAAan yaAAlamu mataksibu kullu nafsin wasayaAAlamu alkuffaru liman AAuqbaalddari
|
| |
| 43. * |
The Unbelievers say: "No apostle art thou." Say: "Enough for a witness between me and you is Allah, and such as have knowledge of the Book."
|
|
Those who disbelieved will say, "You are not a messenger!" Say, "GOD suffices as a witness between me and you, and those who possess knowledge of the scripture."
|
|
ويقول الذين كفروا لست مرسلا قل كفى بالله شهيدا بيني وبينكم ومن عنده علم الكتاب
|
|
And those who disbelieved say: "You are not sent." Say: "Enough/sufficient with God (as) a witness/testifier between me and between you, and who at him (is) The Book's knowledge." 169
|
|
|
|
Wayaqoolu allatheena kafaroo lasta mursalan qul kafabiAllahi shaheedan baynee wabaynakum waman AAindahu AAilmu alkitabi
